I have been using this on my face for about 3 months now and my skin is the clearest it's ever been! Btw i didn't have terrible acne but it was moderate, like at any given time i probably had 1-3 breakouts on my face (to be expected as I am 17). i had used various other acne washes before that, none of which had much of an effect.prior to this, the only things that made somewhat of a dent in my acne were Clinique liquid facial soap mild (used for about a year) and burts bee's acne solutions liquid face soap (also used this for about a year), these both worked better than other soaps I had used but I still had small breakouts most of the time. Now, my skin is almost always clear, except for minor hormonal breakouts (which are very small and go away after 1 or 2 days). My face is also softer and more even-toned. I think it was this soap that helped a lot, but I also started using a moisturizer daily (olay complete all day moisture lotion spf 15) and have been trying to drink at least 3 liters of water every day so those things also contributed to my clear skin. My routine is as follows: morning-1. wash face with this for 30 seconds, then rinse.2. use cotton ball to apply dickinsons' original witch hazel pore perfecting toner all over face (I started using this before dr. woods, works very well).3. apply 10% benzoyl peroxide spot treatment to pimples/blemishes, cocoa butter stick to rough patches.4. apply olay moisturizer all over face and neck.5. do make up.evening-1. wash face with this TWO TIMES 30 seconds each time (once to remove makeup, second time to wash face- this works well at removing all makeup I wear- foundation, concealer, mascara, blush, etc.)2. use witch hazel3. apply epiduo (acne prescription to blemishes), cocoa butter stick to acne scars/rough patches.so anyways, I really think using this face wash, along with a moisturizer and drinking plenty of water, changed my skin for the better! I would recommend it to anyone, as it seems pretty gentle (apparently you can use it for lots of other things too like shampoo, house cleaning product, etc. but I only have experience using it as a face wash). it's also nice that it comes in such a big bottle, I have been putting it into one of my old Clinique bottles so it makes it easier to use. I still have a lot leftover. and some people say the smell is weird, it's definitely distinctive but I don't mind it at all. all in all, take my advice and try this :)Was expecting something both slightly exfoliating and moisturizing. What I experienced was neither plus an aroma akin to laundry soap. Won’t be buying again, as this is just not for me.The soap is nice & smell great, but it doesn’t lather as much as I had expected. Makes it so I end up using more than I normally would. Probably won’t buy again. This smelled so good I was tempted to re order it. But the scent is all I know because this thing came empty. The packager did not secure the top or labled the package fragile. So in the ruff handling of shipping the top open and every drop leaked out. All I got was a dry nice smelling bottle and package. Thanks I so needed a nice smelling empty bottle. But I got my refund and got to keep the bottle so yeah. After two weeks, this cleared up seborrheic dermatitis near my nose/eyebrows, redness on face, and eczema on upper arms. Leaves my skin soft and seems to be fading some acne scars on my back. Also seems to be helping heal some stubborn back acne, but it's a bit too soon to tell. Maybe I've had an SLS allergy this whole time, or maybe it's the shea butter, but whatever it is, I love it. I've also been taking two doses of 200mg of magnesium citrate every day which has also helped, but this seems to the main factor in my improvements.I also use this as a shampoo and it works great. It leaves my hair slightly dry, but I believe that's just because I'm not used to having clean hair (my old products would leave a buildup). It also seems to have helped my scalp dandruff, though that's not completely gone.Lastly, one bottle will probably last me over a month, which, considering how much soap I generally use, is pretty darn good. All in all, this one's a keeper, and beats the other dozens (literally) of soaps/body washes I've tried over the years.First off, this is the best clean I have felt my entire life. It's unreal how well this cleans your skin. The scent isn't bad either. My issue with this soap is it lathers poorly. I had to use a lot of soap to get a decent lather. I even tried using a loofah but the lather was still subpar. I will keep searching as this is my first African Black soap I've tried so hopefully I can find a better lather.I moved from Oregon to Texas and my skin was not happy. While I am leaving Texas, my skin needs some TLC. I did a little research and was a little leery about this product due to some of the reviews commenting on the smell being too strong or unappealing. Well, I am not sure, but I think that perhaps those people need to get their noses checked, as the smell is quite nice. It's not overwhelming, either in the shower or on the skin. The closest I can describe the smell is clean, yet earthy, which is a combination that I really enjoy (maybe that's my hippie roots though). I like that this lathers a little and can be used for a variety of applications, from shampoo and face wash, to body wash and even an all-purpose cleaner. While this is only the first day that I have used the product, I do like how it makes my skin feel...clean, but not stripped. I will update my review after I am done with the bottle, but with the small amount needed, I am not sure when that will be.This stuff is great. First of all I ordered it 01-22-17 and I still have a little bit left in the 8oz bottle, so it's lasted me well over a year. I use this twice a day to wash my face. I got it to help with acne and it seems like it does help. It didn't clear my skin up instantly but I wasn't expecting that. It can be a little harsh at first because it's quite drying. But I have very oily skin and my skin adjusted to it very well. Overall I love this product and I already got a new one to replace the old in a few days. One final comment the soap has a weird smell. It smells like an earthy/natural/dirt or something but after I use the product my face always feels fresh and clean. Ive gotten used to the smell.
